ABOUT THE EVENT

What’s the importance of a liberal arts education in the 21st century, in which society is becoming both increasingly global and technologically advanced?

The idea of a liberal arts education has come under attack in recent years, with critics charging that colleges and universities are too expensive, too difficult to access, and don’t teach the skills needed in the workforce of the future.

But Lynn Pasquerella, President of the Association of American Colleges and Universities says there’s a disconnect:  Instead of debating value, we should be focusing on how a liberal arts education combined with technology should give students the skills not just to succeed in the workplace, but also solve the world’s most pressing problems.

So are liberal arts institutions developing this integrative approach to learning that breaks down silos and brings together disciplines? How can schools focus on giving students more practice on working on real-world problems? What skills do employers need in their future employees and how will schools give students the tools to be successful?

Please join Dr. Ahmad M. Hasnah, president of Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Pasquerella and Harvard Business Review in exploring these questions on September 17 in New York City. Together, we will take a look at how academia and industry are thinking about putting together the pieces of the future of education.

This is an intimate, invitation-only event for select executives, and your voice is critical to this discussion. Be sure to register today to secure your seat on September 17.
